Make that a double-up for the super short Davidi Kitai.
It wasn't easy though. Nor was it quick.
Alexandre Reard opened to 30,000 in the cutoff, and Kitai had just 39,000 including his big blind. After using a time bank or two, he made the call, leaving himself 9,000.
The flop fell [5h][kh][9h], and Kitai took his 30 seconds before checking. Reard tossed in a 25,000 chip for an all-in, and Kitai counted his time bank cards. There's a payjump between 24th and 23rd place, and he wanted to give himself an opportunity to get it.
Problem was, there didn't seem to be much action on the other tables. Kitai used a couple of time banks, then picked up his 9,000.
"I'll keep one, see what happens," he joked, referring to his last time bank card. He turned over [7h][2c] against Reard's [ac][5d] for a pair of fives.
