New emerged a while ago that there is currently development on a Quentin Tarantino idea for a Star Trek movie that is being scripted out and may or may not happen… and may or may not have Tarantino himself directing it. We already now that another Star Trek film is on the way from director SJ Clarkson, the first ever female Star Trek director, and will most likely include Chris Hemsworth as Chris Pine’s Captain Kirk’s father. The assumption up till now is that if Tarantino’s project moved forward it would likely be a stand alone film and not include the existing cast. However, Mr. Spock actor Zachary Quinto is now suggesting that Tarantino’s film MAY be about the existing cast when he said the following in a recent interview: “You know, until deals are done and contracts are signed and schedules are cleared, nothing is set in stone, so anything can happen.
